Description

1925 Early Gau Member Commemorative Badge: Enameled and heavily silver plated tombac wreath, 44 mm, 17.60 gm, riveted swastika, black antiqued wreath and fittings, the trademark concave jig-bent double pin, Solid silver swastika hallmarked "R. Wachtler & Lange Mittweide" (the only firm that made this badge), the silver mark "800 or 900" was too lightly struck to correctly read. This badge was awarded in eight Gau. It has two types, one with the date 1923, the other 1925. The missing year was 1924 when the NSDAP was outlawed and Hitler was in prison due to the failed November 1924 Putsch. This enameled variety is much more desireable than the painted version, very light wear.
