GD/Brandenburg Div Inf. Regt. Leutnant Sew-in Boards: Russian braid, white wool waffenfarb backing over a cardboard stiffener and a metal bar, 32 x 20 mm hollow tombac cyphers with ghost image on the braid underneath - same color as for the missing buttons, removed from a tunic that saw combat evidenced by the dirty braid. The GD Division was annihilated in April 1945 in Pillau East Prussia. Only a few hundred men managed to escape to Northern Germany and surrender to the British Forces at wars end. Very Rare!
