Description
SA AltenGarde Westmarkfahrt 1938 Badge: A special Presentation Badge for the June 21-24 Old Guard 650 man March from Koblenz to Trier. This badge was made by an unknown manufacturing jeweler and was probably presented to the leader of the SA Group Westmark. The badge is 50 mm wide and weighs 27.1 gm. The three silver symbols are riveted to a thick beveled banded agate disk that sits on top of another agate disk underneath. The agate doublet is set in a solid silver ring that in turn is set in a fancy hand carved solid silver disk. The sword and eagle is the symbol of the SA and the castle and grapes are symbols of the fortified landmarks and vineyards that appear along the steep slopes of the Mosel river valley between Koblenz and Trier.
