Private Order Jeweler Made Hat Insignia: 52 x 43 mm, 20.5 gm, wonderful detail for a cast eagle, the two solid silver spring hard prongs seem to be made from the casting sprues, the iridescent gold, green and blue colors on the back and inside edges are silver chloride, came out of an old collection back when you could buy police eagles for a few dollars each, the heft and overall color indicate a high grade of silver, probably made from melted coins, forks, spoons, or pure silver, excellent condition, appears to be a genuine WW2 period piece.
