Sportappell Der Betriebe 1939: The German Labor-Front Companies Sports Appeal Award of 1939. Porcellain Disk, highest grade with gold letters, 128 mm (5 inches), reverse marked "SS Allach," 15 cm cardboard box missing the top lid with its gold embossed DAF (Deutsche Arbeits-Front) cogwhell insignia, a special award given to high party officials and large corporate donors to promote physical fitness through sports. Taken from Dachau Concentration Camp by Major Talbot, serial #9011EE, Dentistry Section of Allied Operations. Comes with a handwritten five page letter by the seller, notarized in 1974, to a San Bernadino CA relics dealer. A very large and rare award, excellent condition.
