US/German M3 Camillus Fighting Knife
Description
US/German M3 Camillus Fighting Knife: The consignor purchased this knife from the estate of a 100th Infantry Div vet. His theory is the German's reworked a captured US fighting knife due to a severe shortage of their own inferior boot knives. The cut down K98 scabbard is blued steel, screw held M8 throat, two spring leaves inside to tightly hold the blade inside. Unmarked blade, 95% blueing, not sharpened but has a factory edge sharp enough to shave! Guard marked USM3 Camillus, leather washer grip, four rivets in pommel marked with a flaming bomb. A US collector just wrote to say he has one in better condition than the one in the photo. Overall light to moderate wear.
