Description

Established on 8 April 1915, the French Croix de Guerre and was awarded for individual citations for acts of bravery in the face of the enemy. The medal had different ribbon attachments depending on the command level at which it was awarded. A bronze star indicates an award by a regiment or brigade, a silver star by a division, a silver gilt star by a corps, and a bronze palm by the Army. Bronze, 3 pc, 36x44 mm, missing bar/pin, light wear.
