Eisernes Kreuz 1st Träger Desk Pad: After the war, many veteran's found ways to advertise the highest medal they won for bravery. This heavy duty desk pad is an excellent example. It has a 15 mm enameled tombac Iron Cross 1st class pinned to the baked black enameled brass hinged cover. It has an 8.0 x 5.5 graph paper pad with gilded edges. The base is made from high gloss, beveled, black bakelite. Two blackened brass bolts give it a slight tilt. It is very heavy (7.5 oz), scarce, and well made. Excellent condition!
